True Blood DVD-athon

I recently purchased True Blood Season One from Amazon, and am about to watch it for the first time. I don’t get HBO, and have heard nothing but great things about this series, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Summer TV is so awful (ahem, I’m a Celebrity..), so hopefully this will keep me entertained for a bit. Too bad the bf will not have anything to do with it, because apparently he doesn’t like the whole ‘vampire’ thing. I never should have dragged him to Twilight.. what a very, very bad idea that was.

I was/am a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so I’m thinking I’ll enjoy this (even if I have to watch it solo). No more horrible summer cable tv for me. Books and DVD’s are the way to go!

Update: Watched the first two episodes and so far, so good. Except for one thing- the intro! It’s SO creepy. I have trouble watching it. But other then that, I like!

I was hiding under your porch because I love you

It’s raining AGAIN in Boston. We’re talking downpours, lightning, and gray blah-ness all day. I keep telling myself to stop complaining about the weather. But.. seriously? It’s now July. And all I want is a vanilla latte but I’m on Day 3 of no spending. Arghhh. Hopefully this weekend clears up for 4th of July festivities.

Last year’s 4th was a complete wash-out. All fireworks were canceled, and there was nothing to do. We ended up going to the movies, watching Get Smart with Steve Carrell, and staying for a second movie (ooh we are so devious), to watch Wall-E.  These sneaky ‘double features’ are a great thing to do on rainy nights. Wall-E was so amazing. Get Smart, not so much.

And if you love Pixar movies like Wall-E, then you must must must go see Up. I laughed. I cried (a lot, actually). And there were talking dogs! Who doesn’t love a talking dog? (see title of post for best quote ever). If I was to do another rainy night double-feature, it would most definitely include Up. And maybe the Hangover, which was also super funny, but in a much much different way.
